What it means
Forgiveness isn’t pretending it didn’t hurt—it’s choosing obedience and peace over bitterness. Prayer helps us soften our hearts, release offense, and rebuild trust one step at a time.
Pray Together
Father, thank You for forgiving us through Jesus. Please help us forgive from the heart. Remove bitterness, pride, and harshness, and replace it with tenderness and kindness. Heal what has been strained between us, and help us speak with humility and love. Teach us to apologize quickly, to listen well, and to rebuild with patience. Let peace return to our marriage. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Couple Action (1 minute)
Each of us says one sentence: “I’m willing to forgive ______.” Then we say together: “Lord, help us forgive and move forward in peace.”

What it means
Forgiveness is one of the greatest gifts a husband and wife can give one another. Every marriage will experience disappointment, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings. God calls us to forgive because He has forgiven us. Forgiveness does not excuse wrong behavior, but it releases resentment and makes room for healing, restoration, and renewed trust.
Pray Together
Father, help us forgive one another as You have forgiven us through Christ. Remove bitterness, resentment, and unresolved hurt from our hearts. Teach us to extend grace, show compassion, and choose love even when forgiveness feels difficult. Restore what has been damaged and strengthen the bond of our marriage. In Jesus' name, amen.
Couples Action (1 minute)
Each spouse identifies one offense, frustration, or hurt they need to release to God. Then say together, “Lord, help us walk in forgiveness.”
Scripture Anchor (NKJV): Colossians 3:13
“Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”

What it means
Forgiveness opens the door, but repair rebuilds the relationship. God desires more than simply ending an argument; He desires restoration. Healthy marriages grow stronger when couples address hurts honestly, extend grace freely, and work together to rebuild trust, understanding, and connection. Through God's help, broken places can become testimonies of His healing power.
Pray Together
Father, thank You for being a God of restoration. Help us repair what has been damaged by hurtful words, poor choices, or unresolved conflict. Give us humble hearts that seek understanding and healing. Teach us to rebuild trust, strengthen our connection, and reflect Your love in our marriage. In Jesus' name, amen.
Couples Action (1 minute)
Each spouse shares one practical step they can take this week to strengthen trust and restore connection. Then thank God for His restoring grace.
